Tanushitha Reddy, Kartik Neal Vadepalli and Kota Shashidhar were among the top-seeded players to win titles at the Secunderabad Club Open Talent Series tennis tournament played at the Secunderabad Club.
Also lifting the trophy were the girls doubles top-seeded pair of Darshana Dinesh and Shreya Gautham. The duo defeated the second-seeded team-up of Charita Vasi Reddy and Meghna Suresh 6-2, 6-3.
In the under-12 girls single singles title clash, Tanushitha quelled a late fightback from Yashashwini Reddy Narala, the seventh seed, to register a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
In the boys’ summit clash, under-12 first seed Kartik was on song, demolishing second-seeded L.N. Nitish Baalaji 6-1, 6-2.
In the under-14 category, boys singles top seed Shashidhar shrugged off a one-set deficit and defeated the unseeded Yogananth Sudhirth 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the title. In the girls singles final, Amulika Gottiparthy, seeded second, denied Tanushita a double.
Amulika hit the ground running to defeat the fourth-seeded player 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, in the boys doubles under-14 final, Koushik Kumar and Lokaditya, the second seeds, combined brilliantly to take down the unseeded pair of Vasista Linka and Sadhista Linga 6-1, 6-4.
