Sachin Tendulkar Reveals Favourite Captains, Names 3 Non-Indian Batters

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has revealed his favourite captains that he played under and also shared his experience as captain of Team India during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on November 3.

A Reddit user asked Sachin about his favourite captain, to which he replied that Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni would be at the top of his list.

He was also asked about his experience captaining the Indian Test team. Sachin replied, “It was a great honour to lead the team as captain. However, I didn’t always have the freedom to pick my team entirely on my own. The BCCI today is a far more professional organisation than it was in the 1990s. Indian cricket also went through a particularly dark phase during that period.”

Sachin had several more exchanges with Reddit users on Tuesday. One user asked him whether Vaibhav Sooryavanshi should be handed captaincy responsibilities at the age of 15. Sachin replied that he felt it was too early for Sooryavanshi to become vice-captain in the Duleep Trophy.

“We have to let him play more matches with the red ball and take one step at a time!” he said.

Sachin also named his current favourite non-Indian batters, listing Harry Brook, Joe Root and Steve Smith.

There were also some fun exchanges between Sachin and Reddit users. One user asked which batter from his era he enjoyed bowling to the most. Sachin replied, “Enjoyed bowling to all of them because I got all of them out! Haha!”

Another user asked Sachin about his favourite wicket, to which he gave a cryptic response: “Last ball of the day....iykyk.”

The AMA session wasn't limited to cricket, as Sachin also answered Reddit users with questions about his hairline, his thoughts on idli, his favourite film and several other topics, giving fans a glimpse into his life beyond the sport.
