Modi hails athlete Neeraj Chopra, Kabaddi team for their victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra for emerging victorious at the Lausanne Diamond League. He showered praises on Chopra for his talent and relentless pursuit of excellence that helped him deliver extraordinary performance at the championship.

At the same time, Modi also acknowledged the remarkable performance of the Indian Kabaddi team which clinched the 8th Asian Kabaddi Championship title.

He wished both Chopra and the Kabaddi team best of luck in their endeavours ahead.

Track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra has been forced to stay away from three prominent sports events following muscle strain during his training. Though he felt nervous after the comeback, he surpassed his rivals and stood out with a remarkable fifth-round throw of 87.66m.

The Indian Kabaddi team put up a stunning performance and defeated Iran by 42-32 in the final of the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Seokdang Cultural Centre in Busan, Republic of Korea.
