No Harsha, Doull At Eden Garden: CAB Urges BCCI Citing Their Comments On Kolkata Pitch

CAB in a letter to BCCI urged to not allow Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull to commentate on any of the matches at Eden Gardens

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) had in a letter urged the BCCI to not allow Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull to commentate on any of the matches at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, according to reports.

According to a report on RevSports, CAB red flagged the commentators after their comments on Eden Gardens pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee.
Backing Mukherjee, CAB maintained that he was working within the guidelines of the BCCI.
Recently, New Zealad former player and commentator Doull suggested on a digital platform that if Mukherjee continues to be head strong with his approach, then KKR should consider shifting their home ground.
India's cricket governing body is yet to respond to the letter.
However, Netizens slammed CAB's move. A user wrote, "The one CAB which should not be taken. Simon Doull is one of the most fair, honest and a commentator who is insightful... And he we are. Shame if this is true."

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will hope that their strife-ridden batting unit will tighten its act against in-form table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL match in Kolkata on Monday.

The Knight Riders suffered an inexplicable meltdown in their previous match, getting bowled out for 95 while chasing 112 against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, and that collapse was a just reflection of the overall rot that has set among their batters.

But they have a ray of hope. The reigning IPL champions have roped in Abhishek Nayar, who was recently sacked by the BCCI from the post of India's assistant coach, even before his exit from the national setup was made official.

Two pitches have been prepared for this match, and one has an extra layer of grass that has not been trimmed.

The final decision on the surface will depend on the team's strategy, even as the KKR have conveyed their displeasure at not getting enough "home advantage".
