Nidhish Shyamal and Yashvi Jain won the Telangana State Under-17 Chess Championship held at Vikas The Concept School in Bachupally in Hyderabad.
Nidhish Shyamal and Yashvi Jain won the Telangana State Under-17 Chess Championship held at Vikas The Concept School in Bachupally in Hyderabad. As many as 174 boys and 48 girls participated in the event, which served as selections to represent the state at the upcoming Under-17 National Chess Championship to be held in Jammu & Kashmir. Nidhish Shyamal (6) won with the boys section while Yashvi Jain (5.5) took the top honours in the girls draw. The Principal of hosting school, Velampudi Sunita, distributed the prizes.

Boys U-17: Nidhish Shyamal (6) bt Tanvish Reddy T (5); Advik Ranga (5) drew with Pavan Karthikeya Varma G (5); Sundar Divij P (5) drew with Karthikeya Chunchu (5); Advik Reddy M (5) drew with Siddharth Samaddar (5); Nagireddypalli Dixit (5) bt Naga Sai Sarthak K (4).
Girls U-17: Yashvi Jain (5.5) drew with Gade Sharanya (5); Aarohi Mathur (5) bt Hyma Sanvitha (4); Sreesha Kandi (5) bt Trishika Patnaik (4); Sai Susheela Reddy R (5) bt Sahasra Bhattiprolu (4); Lakkavathri Vanshika (4.5) bt Manasvi Virugu (3.5).
