MI Is A Team That Knows How To Make A Comeback: Piyush Chawla

Speaking on Kuhl Fans Match Centre Live on JioHotstar, JioStar expert Piyush Chawla commented on Mumbai Indians’ back-to-back wins: “They are on a roll at the moment. The kind of cricket they are playing, all the games they’ve won recently have been convincing victories. They haven’t really had to struggle. The bowlers are doing their job, the batters are doing wonders with the bat, and the middle order isn’t even getting a chance to bat. That’s a great sign for any team. This is why we always say Mumbai Indians is a team that knows how to make a comeback and take the lead. Earlier, there were concerns about Rohit Sharma not scoring runs, but in the last two games, he has stepped up. Hardik Pandya is in great form, both with the bat and ball, which gives him a lot of confidence and that reflects in his captaincy as well.”

JioStar expert Matthew Hayden commented on Rohit Sharma’s innings on a slightly tricky pitch: “It was excellent, well-measured innings. There was power, but more than anything, it was about his tempo. He knew he had a moderate total to chase. When you look at the seven-wicket victory, Mumbai Indians had plenty in the tank. It was a very emphatic and confident win, something Sunrisers Hyderabad clearly lacked. Rohit’s innings had vision, stability, and perfect timing. It made the rest of the team rocket ahead.”
JioStar expert Piyush Chawla commented on Suryakumar Yadav’s innings: “We all know what Suryakumar Yadav is capable of when he gets going. In the last game, we saw a great innings from him, which must have given him a lot of confidence. He came in with a clear plan. He took 3-4 balls to get his eye in, then started playing his signature sweeps and some classy shots over cover. The way he batted today, he looked like the Suryakumar Yadav we all know, a batter who can dominate any bowling attack. It was just brilliant.”
JioStar expert Matthew Hayden also shared his thoughts on what went wrong for Sunrisers Hyderabad: “The simplest explanation is just a lack of confidence. When you start losing the way SRH has, it's tough to bounce back. They were seen as benchmark batters, but right now they’re far from that. This has led to issues in the middle order. It comes down to regaining confidence—not just in the top order but across the unit. They need to stop overthinking and focus on their own game. Right now, SRH are chasing this tournament, chasing combinations, and even chasing the strength that used to be their powerful batting unit.”
JioStar expert Matthew Hayden also commented on the upcoming Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Rajasthan Royals match, and if RCB can change their fortunes: “Most successful franchises—like Mumbai, Chennai, even Kolkata—have strong home fortresses. That’s why they’ve been consistent over the years. RCB, if they want to stop being the bridesmaid and finally be the bride, need to figure out how to win at home. In previous seasons, I’d say bowling was their weakness. But now, I feel they’ve covered a lot of bases. This match is a must-win for them.”
