Match-fixing Ghost Back to Haunt IPL
The IPL has had ugly issues to fix in the past. Inaugural edition’s champions Rajasthan Royals and five-time title winners Chennai Super Kings were banned for two seasons (2016 and 2017) for a spot-fixing and betting scandal in 2013 that involved team officials

Hyderabad: Midway through the IPL, the match-fixing ghosts of the past have bobbed their invisible heads again. The discreet devil is a certain businessman from Hyderabad whom the Board of Control for Cricket in India sees as making moves to approach players and their families with a sinister design to smudge sporting spirit.
Based on a tip-off by its Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU), the BCCI has written to the IPL teams to be alert to the entrepreneur's suspicious approach/ activities which include showering expensive gifts in a perceived attempt to forge a close association with the cricketers.
The mail cautions players and everyone associated with teams to be vigilant and not fall into a possible trap.
However, Hyderabad Cricket Association officials have kept off the issue saying they haven’t any received any mail.
The needle of suspicion is pointing to a certain VA, according to sources.

Quite a few players had been arrested as well in the case that had rocked the country.
