LP Cup all set to tee-off
Bengaluru: One of the most anticipated golf tournaments of the calendar, the Louis Philippe Cup returns to Bengaluru for its fifth edition.
With India’s top golfers vying for the trophy, the tournament will kick off at the Karnataka Golf Association from Wednesday with the Pro-Am getting under way on Tuesday.
Former Indian cricketers Venkatesh Prasad, Syed Kirmani, actor R Madhavan, hockey player Ashish Balal and athlete Ashwini Nachappa will parade their golfing skills at the Pro-Am event to be held prior to the four-day tournament.
The 72-hole golfing extravaganza which will end on Saturday, will see the likes of SSP Chawrasia, Rahil Gangjee, Gaganjeet Bhullar, local lad S Chikkarangappa, M Dharma vie for honours in the team event to be held in the stroke-play format.
The current edition with eight city-based franchises, one more than the previous edition, returns to the KGA, which has been adjudged as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Golf Destinations in South Asia, by the Asia Sports Tourism Summit 2016, for the second consecutive year.
