Honda rev up
Chennai: The solo Indian team in FIM Asia Road Racing Championship — IDEMITSU Honda Racing India — are ready to showcase their mettle in the final round this weekend at the Chang International Circuit, Thailand.
With a steady performance, Japanese team-mate, Taiga Hada will be a tough competition for his opponents in the SuperSport 600cc (SS 600) class. Both the Indian riders — Rajiv Sethu and Anish Shetty — will compete in the Asia Production 250cc (AP250) class.
The 17-year-old rider Senthil Kumar along with Rajiv Sethu will also be putting up their best efforts in the concluding round of Honda’s Asian rider development platform — Honda Thai Talent Cup at the circuit on the speedy NSF 250 machine.
In their debut year, the team have made their mark at the international level in the SuperSports 600cc and are in the 7th position in the overall standings. Heading towards the final round of 2018 season, the 19-year-old Japanese rider - Taiga Hada holds a total of 72 points with 2 podium finishes. The rider ranks 9th in the championship so far.
With 23 teams competing in the Asia Production 250 grid, the solo Indian team currently holds 15th position. Making their way in the AP 250 class, the Indian duo of Rajiv Sethu and Anish Shetty are in the 27th and 28th position after round 5.
