Future Kids girls and boys storm into basketball finals

In another match Delhi Public School, Khajaguda scored a comprehensive win over host St Andrews School, Bowenpally 46-23.

HYDERABAD: The Future Kids School boys and girls teams stormed into the finals of the 14th Edition of St Andrews Inter School Basketball Tournament for the Dr Emily Emanuel Trophy on Thursday.

The boys semifinal was nip and tuck with Vishal scoring for Suchitra and Subhash scoring for Future Kids. Suchitra was at a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, however Future Kids played a fast paced game in the second quarter and levelled the scores 26-26 at half time. After change of ends Future Kids continued the same rhythm to finally win the match 48-43, while in another match Oakridge International raced past Johnson Grammar (ICSE) 77-41.

The girls semifinal saw Future Kids play a fast paced game from the start, scoring through Brinda and Navya to take a 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter while Obul Reddy players Mohana and Kasturi faced tough oppostion as Future Kids players did not give out easy baskets and maintained their lead to win the match with a 43-34 scoreline.

In another match Delhi Public School, Khajaguda scored a comprehensive win over host St Andrews School, Bowenpally 46-23.

Boys semifinals: The Future Kids 48 (Subash 26, Adyan 13, Harivansh 6) bt Suchitra Academy 43 (Vishal 20, Veer 5, Jai 4); Oakridge International 77 (Ayush 21, Kartik 15, Ameer 14) bt Johnson Grammar (ICSE) 41 (Vishnu 10, Vishwanath 9).

Girls semifinals: The Future Kids 43 (Brinda 18, Navya 8) bt P. Obul Reddy Public School 34 (Kasture 11, Sathvika 10); Delhi Public School 46 (Harshitha 20, Kinnera 10, Khushi 6) bt St Andrews School 23 (Nidhi 10, Sristi 9, Pranavi 4).
