A lifetime dream was complete for Nico Rosberg in Abu Dhabi as the Mercedes driver won his first Formula One world championship, having pipped Lewis Hamilton to the title. A second-place finish at Yas Marina secured the title for the German who followed in his father's footsteps in winning the world championship after the Finn's 1982 success. Rosberg took to Twitter shortly after the Abu Dhabi finale in the Formula One season, and posted a five-minute long video showing his early years of go-karting. The video was tagged with the message saying thank you to his mother and father.
Rosberg performs time trial laps around a short track under the guidance of his father, who watching from a roof takes down lap times. Even at an early age Rosberg was keen to show his enthusiasm for racing as he slides his kart into corners, with only low fuel bringing him to a stop.
