Hyderabad: Local lad Rishab Nayar got off to a great start, winning the Laser 4.7 race as the Hyderabad Sailing Week kicked off at the Hussainsagar Lake on Tuesday. The Yacht Club of Hyderabad sailor beat Ankit Rajaram of Tlangana Sailing Association to the second place. Koteshwar Rao of Trishna Sailing Club came third. Heavy rains and strong winds made life difficult for the sailors who provided quite a spectacle though.
In the RS:X category, Jerome Kumar and Arjun Reddy of Army Yachting Node (AYN) took the lead with 5 and 7 points respectively. Ebad Ali of EME Sailing Association was third with 9 points. In the Laser Standard class, sailors of AYN swept the leading positions with Muzahid Khan (3 points), Mohit Saini (15 points) and Gurjeet Singh (17 points) securing the first, second and third places.
