Conor McGregor will reveal the opponent for his comeback fight in the next week, but for the time being he is happily toasting ‘to freedom’ after taking his girlfriend Dee Devlin out for a ride on Sunday night.
Dressed in a checked suit and flat cap, McGregor enjoyed a pint of Guinness alongside friends on a night out as the UFC star took time out from his intense training sessions during the Easter weekend.
McGregor lost by submission to Nate Diaz in the second round and is expected to drop back down to 145lb to defend his featherweight title against either Frankie Edgar or Jose Aldo this summer.
But the 27-year-old, who kept his 4.4million Instagram followers informed of the night’s entertainment, has given little indication as to who he shall fight next despite Diaz’s willingness for a rematch.
There would no doubt be plenty of interest in seeing ‘The Notorious’ come up against the American once more, regardless of the weight class, but McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh believes supporters will be surprised by the imminent announcement.
