Bengaluru: Local golfer Sharmila Nicollet finally made a breakthrough as she turned in an identical score of one-under 71 to share the lead with Delhi golfer Ankita Tiwana at the 11th leg of the Women's Professional Golf Tour's 11th Leg at the Prestige Golfshire on Wednesday.
A shot behind at tied third are Mehar Atwal and Amandeep Drall with a score of par 72. Bengaluru’s Sharmila carded a birdie on the ninth hole, while dropping two shots on the second and seventh holes in her front nine. She put up a much improved performance in the latter half, firing three birdies on the 13th, 14th, and 18th holes, while dropping a single shot on the 12th to finish with a score of one-under 71 for the tied lead. Neha Tripathi, the current Order of Merit leader, is placed fifth with a score of one-over 73.
