Hyderabad: Sunny Vijay Vargi and Dhruv Singh scored emphatic wins to begin well at the Telangana State Ranking Snooker & Billiards Championship that got underway at the Film Nagar Cultural Centre in Jubilee Hills here on Thursday.
In the senior Snooker category, Sunny overpowered Vivekananda 3-0. The scoreline read 50-41, 64-17, 37-7.
In the senior Billiards category, Dhruv Singh was dominant with a 3-0 win — 102-56, 100-99, 100-52 — over Abbas.
As many as 150 players from all over Telangana including current India No.6 Himanshu Jain and State defending champion Khizar Raoof are taking part in the tournament that runs till November 5.
