Fans who thought they’d never see retired world champion Nico Rosberg drive around the Formula One track again have been given an early Christmas present. But the German driver has taken his Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid car, which helped him secure the title ahead of Lewis Hamilton, for one last drive.
And Rosberg wanted to capture the emotional moment in a unique way — by taking a high speed selfie. The world champion was seen using his camera to take a picture before returning to the steering wheel to complete his drive. Rosberg, 31, shocked the sport when he decided to retire just five days after being crowned champion winning his maiden title and it remains to be seen who will fill the German’s boots to team up with Hamilton for 2017. He also finished in third place in the German sports person of the year award, but was nevertheless delighted in his country’s sporting year.
