HYDERABAD: MVSR Engineering College scored a hard-fought 27-23 victory over VEER346 after trailing 10-11 at half time in the Hyderabad District Basketball Association’s Annual League Championship here on Sunday.
The match was nip and tuck with both the teams focussed on defence not allowing their opponents easy baskets.
VEER346 depended on Chary to score as Govind was just unstoppable for MVSR. Both teams were locked 18-18 at end of third quarter. In a fierce fourth quarter MVSR switched to tight full court man-to-man marking which impacted the scoring of VEER346 especially as Chary was not allowed to receive the ball itself.
In turn, Govind got 7 of the 9 points scored by MVSR through drive-ins. In other matches, fancied teams had easy victories.
