Young Telangana boxer Naganika reigned supreme, getting crowned champion in the girls’ 81+ kg category at the Youth National Boxing Championships held at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
The increasingly impressive Naganika, who was unstoppable on her way to the final, was in top form in the summit clash against Barbara of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan pugilist found no answers to Naganika’s in-ring fury. The Telangana girl pounded away at her opponent right from the start. While Barbara looked increasingly punch-drunk, Naganika never ran out of steam. After a few such rounds, Naganika was awarded the match through a technical knockout (TKO).
