St Andrews chess teams start well

St Andrews boys and girls team started well at the 16th edition of Rev. Fr. Devasia Inter School Chess tournament.
While the boys beat Johnson Grammar School 2-0, the girls silenced Samaritan Public School with a similar scoreline in the 26-team event.

Hyderabad: St Andrews boys and girls team started well at the 16th edition of Rev. Fr. Devasia Inter School Chess tournament that began on Tuesday at St Andrews School, Bowenpally.

While the boys beat Johnson Grammar School 2-0, the girls silenced Samaritan Public School with a similar scoreline in the 26-team event.

Boys first round: St Andrews’s School (Team A) (2) beat Johnson Grammar School (0); Little Flower School (2) beat St Andrew’s School (Team B) (0); Meridian School (1) drew with Pallavi Model School (1); Samaritan Public School (1) drew with Bhavans (1); Chirec International School (2) beat Secunderabad Public School (0); St Andrews (Marredpally) (0) lost to Delhi Public School (2); Hindu Public School (2) beat St Andrews (Keesara) (0).

Girls first round: Hindu Public School (0) lost to Little Flower School (2); Pallavi Model School (0) lost to Meridian School (2); Bhavans School (1) drew with Chirec International School (1); St Andrews School (Team A) (2) beat Samaritan Public School (0); Johnson Grammar School (1) drew with St Andrews School (Team B) (1).
