Two Karimnagar students picked for netball national tourney

K. Venkatesh and M. Akshaya, who were studying in 10th standard, had represented Karimnagar in the state-level tournament

KARIMNAGAR: Two students from Nagunoor Zilla Parishad High School were selected for the 26th National level Netball tournament in the sub-junior category. The event will be held at Government Degree College in Nellore from Monday.

The school’s physical director K. Krishna said that K. Venkatesh and M. Akshaya, who were studying in 10th standard, had represented Karimnagar in the state-level tournament that was held earlier in Gajwel district. Their exploits earned them a berth in the State team, he said.

Krishna and school assistant K. Aruna have extended financial support to the two students.

School principal K. Venkateswarlu, sarpanch U. Sridhar, MPTCs S. Vinay Kuamr, A. Srinivas, deputy sarpanch D. Damodar Reddy, agriculture market chairman K. Raju and Netball Association district president P. Venu Gopal and secretary B. Tirupati greeted the two players for making it to the State squad.
