Hyderabad swimmer set for school world games

The World School Games will be held from April 20 to 25 in Budapest, Hungary.

Hyderabad swimmer Natasha Patnaik will represent India in World School Games after she came up with an impressive performance at the one-day selection trials conducted by the School Games Federation of India at the Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune, on Sunday.

The World School Games will be held from April 20 to 25 in Budapest, Hungary. The 14-year-old Natasha will take part in the Under 17 years category.

A Class IX student of International School of Hyderabad, Natasha has already won one gold, one silver and a bronze medal at the National School Games held in Rajkot earlier.

Natasha is the only girl from Telangana State in the Indian girls team which also has Annie Jain (U-17 category), Yuga Sunil Birnale (U-19), Trisha Karkhanis (U-19), Kalyani Saxena (U-19) and Sadhvi Dhuri (U-19).

Natasha was the only girl from Telangana to make the final qualifying time trials that were held in Pune on Sunday. A promising swimmer, Natasha is coached by John Siddiqui and has shown early potential to win laurels for the country in the future.
