Ronda Rousey had the world at her feet as the unstoppable force of women's sport before a brutal defeat to Holly Holm sent her into the wilderness. That isn’t a figure of speech. Rousey is gunning for redemption at UFC 207 by training in an isolated mountain community, away from the spotlight international stardom bestows. Her defeat to Holm proved shattering and in an interview with ESPN Magazine she compared her 'ninja' state of recovery to that of an unexpected fictional inspiration.
She said: “It's like I'm doing the chick version of growing a beard and living in a cave, you know?” “You remember when Batman goes off to this ninja place, then time lapses and you see he's grown this beard? “My woman version of growing a beard was letting my highlights grow out and changing my number.” Rousey said. “It's like a painter looking at what he made and knowing it's not done yet. You could get away with it,” she signed off.
