Kabaddi league in Telangana

Officially approved by the Telangana Kabaddi Association, the 16-day long event will be held in Warangal and Karimnagar.

The state will have its own version of the kabaddi tournament as Chintala Sports Private Limited has launched the Telangana Premier Kabaddi which is scheduled to be played from January 21 to February 7, 2017.

Officially approved by the Telangana Kabaddi Association, the 16-day long event will be held in Warangal and Karimnagar. A total of eight teams and 112 top professional athletes chosen from across Telangana will take part in this prestigious league, according to the organisers.

The eight teams contesting for TPL are The Hyderabad Bulls, Karimnagar Kings, Siddipet Stallions, Warangal Warriors, Khammam Cheetas, Rangareddy Raiders, Gadwal Gladiators, and Nalgonda Eagles.

The teams have also taken interesting nicknames for themseves. The Hyderabad Bulls are to be called the Nawabs of Kabaddi; the Karimnagar Kings are christened the Killer Kabaddians; Siddipet Stallions want to be known as the Solid Challengers; Warangal Warriors are supposed to be the Wonder Creators; Khammam Cheetas, the Unstoppable Force; Ranga Reddy Raiders are to be the Royal Reagans while the Gadwal Gladiators want to be the Miracle Makers.
