Rev Fr Devasia Inter-School Chess tournament: Pallavi, Sadhu champions

In the girls section, hosts St Andrews and Secunderabad Public School boys claimed the runner-up spots.

Pallavi Model School boys and Sadhu Vaswani International School girls emerged champions in the 14th Rev Fr Devasia Inter-School Chess tournament played at St Andrews School.

In the girls section, hosts St Andrews and Secunderabad Public School boys claimed the runner-up spots.

In the boys category, Kishan Koushik of St Andrews clinched the top spot by engineering brilliant strategies in the individual board prizes followed by Abhiram Promod, Krishna Kalyan and Shovik.

In the girls section, Sevitha Vujju from Sadhu Vaswani International School secured first place while her schoolmate Haritha Sree settled for the second spot followed by Sanjana Varma.

In the earlier rounds, St Andrews (A-team) and Sadhu Vaswani International School were in joint lead in the girls category while in the boys section Secunderabad Public School and Pallavi Model School were in the joint lead.

Meanwhile in the fourth round, St Andrews girls (A-team) defeated Hindu Public School while Sadhu Vaswani International School girls defeated Meridian School. In boys section, Pallavi Model School outperformed Sadhu Vaswani International School. Also Secunderabad Public School beat the hosts St Andrews (B-team).
