Hyderabad: With the names of Simone Biles and Venus Williams cropping up in the Wada hack, talk of Dipa Karmakar and Sania Mirza’s chances of being pushed into the bronze bracket is gaining ground.
Both finished fourth in the vault (gymnastics) and mixed doubles (tennis) at the Rio Games. Biles took gold while Venus was the silver medallist in the events.
Biles and Venus had prior permission to use the substances due to medical conditions but questions are being raised if it’s fair to allow some to compete while using legal medications to boost performance.
