Young archer seeks records
Archery received a boost as 9-year-old boy LR Smaran Sarvesh from Chennai, created a record for the Indian Book of Records and the Asian Book of Records in the individual archery segment by shooting the most number of arrows from a distance of 70 meters at a 122 cm target face and shooting the most number of arrows blindfolded at a target of 80 cm from a distance of 10 meters.
The record attempt was held at Dr. MGR indoor stadium, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, and witnessed by archers and parents. Sarvesh slammed 36 arrows on the board when blindfolded in 8m 51s from 10-meter distance on 80 cm target. “L R Smaran Sarvesh successfully completed 25 arrows on board from a distance of 70 meters at a 122 cm target face in 15 m 55 s to create a record,” India Book of records said.
Dr. Marie Johnson, President and Dr. Mariazeena Johnson, Pro Chancellor of Sathyabama presented Smaran Sarvesh with cash award of Rs 50,000/-.
