Nizamabad girls and Warangal boys came up with brilliant strategies to clinch titles at the 2nd Telangana State Softball Mini Junior (under 12) Inter-District Championship for boys & girls played at Victory Playground in Hyderabad.
Nizamabad drubbed Hyderabad 10-0. The winners were imperious from start to finish and proved tough to handle for Hyderabad as the former won comfortably. It was undoubtedly a big victory for Nizamabad as they kept clean sheet in the final.
Medak finished third after defeating Nalgonda 6-5. It was a thrilling contest as they won by 1 run. Meanwhile, Warangal boys sealed an easy 10-0 victory over Nizamabad. Warangal went full throttle and were not in mood to give an inch to their rivals. As a result Nizamabad were restricted to nil.Meanwhile, Ranga Reddy claimed third place after outperforming Adilabad with a 3-2 verdict. The 1-run victory for the Ranga Reddy side was most deserved as they enjoyed the last laugh.
Earlier in the league match, Hyderabad girls swept aside Khammam with a comfortable 6-run-victory. The gritty Hyderabad unit had controlled the match and restricted their rivals to nil as the scoreline read 6-0. In the boys section, Nizamabad was dominant over Adilabad as they clinched a 7-run victory. It was an smooth win for Nizamabad as the players proved too strong for their opponents as the scoreline — 9-2 — suggests.
