Bengaluru Bulls go down to Telugu Titans

Rohit Kumar top scored with nine points for the losing side while Rahul Chaudhari garnered the same points for the winners.

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Bulls started their home leg of the Pro-Kabaddi League season four with a 24-32 loss to Telugu Titans at the Sree Kanteerava indoor stadium on Tuesday.

Rohit Kumar top scored with nine points for the losing side while Rahul Chaudhari garnered the same points for the winners. It was the Bulls’ third straight loss in the tournament.

The home side got off to a bad start as the Titans rode on their defence to inflict damage before Rahul got an all out to power them to a 1-10 lead in the eighth minute.

Despite the early setback, Bulls came back strongly by tightening their defence and improving their coordination. This yielded results as embracing the do-or-die raid forced mistakes from the Titans’ raiders and allowed the Bulls to contain the damage and claw their way back into the match.

Rahul got the home crowd on its feet with an acrobatic effort which earned his side three points in a do-or-die raid and left the score at 10-15. There was little action in the last minute as the sides went into the break 10-16.

The second half followed the same script with Titans dominating early forcing Bulls to play catch up. The visitors inflicted yet another all out, after coming within touching distance twice earlier, to extend their lead to 16-27.

The Bulls once again grew into the game and curtailed the flow. Rohit again stood off with a crunch raid which gave two points for Bulls but it was too little too late.

In the second match of the night, Puneri Paltans and Bengal Warriors played out an entertaining 34-all draw. Deepak Hooda top scored for Pune with eight points while Vishal Mane topped the scoring chart for Bengal with six points.
