Amritha Mandava emerges best winner at US Kids Golf Tour tourney

Pranav, Raj, Aryan, Aarav and Sneha too make city proud.

Hyderabad: Local lads Pranav Kode and P. Raj Kumar put up a good show to take the first two positions in the Boys 15-18 years category in the Hyderabad leg of the US Kids Golf India Tour at the Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club here on Saturday. Both shot over the par score though.

Hyderabad’s Amritha Mandava dished out the best performance of the day, carding 4 under 68 to win the Girls 12-14 title. Ragini Navet of Delhi came a distant second with 3 over 75 while Sneha Singh and Pihoo Chauhan of Hyderabad took the third and fourth positions in the category.

Hyderabad had more to cheer about. Aryan Pal won the Boys 7 section while Aarav Iyengar finished second behind Sohang Har Kantor of Noida in the Boys 8 category. Thirteen-year-old Ramayush Ray of Kolkata topped his category with a score of 10 over on this par 70 course.

The eight and nine-year-old girls came up with an exciting contest with Sambhavi Chaturvedi and Ayesha Gupta of Delhi-NCR finishing tied second. Rhea Kumar, also from Delhi-NCR, topped the category. Shlok Jain from the US putted well to grab the top spot in the Boys 12 section.

Arshvant Srivastava topped the Boys 9 with a superb display of golf, hitting seven birdies to finish level par. Arshvant was understandably elated. “The course was really challenging. I am really happy to get seven birdies in the tournament,” he said.

With the focus on promoting junior golf in India in a well-structured format, US Kids Golf is recognised as a world leader in youth golf, and is dedicated to helping young players enjoy golf with age-appropriate yardages.

Rajesh Srivastava, President, U.S. Kids Golf India said, “U.S. Golf Kids India has been formed with the real cause of promoting junior golf in the country. It was amazing to see the talent on display today and we couldn't have been happier with the way that the U.S. Golf Kids India Tour has kicked off.”
