CWG 2018: Sushil Kumar completes Commonwealth hat-trick winning gold in 74 kg event

Gold Coast: Sushil Kumar completed hat-trick of Commonwealth gold medals after winning the final of 74 kg wresting event at Gold Coast in Australia on Thursday.

The Indian defeated South Africa’s Botha Johannes by techinical superiority to finish at top of the podium.

 

By winning his third gold medal, the 34-year-old from Haryana became the most successful wrestler at the Commonwealth Games after winning the title in different editions.

Sushil took a little over minute to wrap up this match as he raced to 10 points — 4,2,2,2 — without allowing his opponent to settle. Botha failed to register points on board which meant he lost the match by technical superiority.
