Ahmedabad: In their opening encounter in Group B, Japan showcased their superiority over USA as they recorded an easy 45-19 win on Sunday.
It was the US defence that proved their Achilles' heel once again as they scored just a solitary point in the match. There were signs of improvement from the USA but they will need to do a lot better to get a point in 2016 Kabaddi World Cup.
Japan made a solid start and stormed to a 29-6 lead at the break.
Similar story followed in the second half as Japanese raiders continued wreck havoc despite improved show by their US counterparts. The hapless defence finally bagged a point in the dying minutes of the game as Japan pranced to an easy victory.
Earlier, it was a tale of two halves as Republic of Korea showed their experience to beat Argentina 68-42. The first half was all Korea but Argentina showed tremendous character and fought back in the second half of their debut. Despite the heart, Korea recorded their second consecutive win to go top of the group.
