This recognition will take sailing to a new high in Telangana.
Sailors from Telangana pose with their certificates and trophies won at the India International Regatta, during a felicitation function in Hyderabad on Sunday.
At a function to felicitate the sailing medallists at the recent Youth Nationals and India International Regatta in Chennai the President of the Telangana Sailing Association, Lt Gen K.S. Rao announced that the TSA has been recognised by the Olympic Association.
“This recognition will take sailing to a new high in Telangana and we hope and open the doors for the state government to participate without restraint,” said Olympic Association of Telangana president Ranga Rao.
Six medals is the largest haul Telangana has ever got at any Sailing National event. The state produced 9 in the top 20 amongst boys in the Optimist Fleet and 10 in the top 25 open fleet.
