Hyderabad: One of the biggest and most-decorated stars of wildly-popular the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Alistair Olverleem, is a Dutch import. And it’s only right that the 35-year-old headlines the first ever UFC event to be staged in Holland.
UFC Fight Night 87, to be held in Rotterdam, Holland, will feature a heavyweight bout betweem Overeem and Belarusian pounder Andrei Arlovski. “My career is full of cool moments and cool events, but this is going to be the big one. I’m very excited to bring the UFC to Holland,” Overeem said ahead of his fight on Sunday.
There’s little love lost between Overeem and Arlovski, and the Dutchman said he’ll do his best to send the Belarusian packing. “I tend to do well against former UFC Champions, I’ve beaten all of them, this Sunday I’m going send him out with a bang.
“He’s not my teammate, he’s not my friend , he’s coming to knock my head off. Which is good, I like people who come to fight. This is not going to go the distance. If Andrei is lucky this will end in the first round.
“It’s going to be a head-on collision. He doesn’t like me and I’m known for demolishing my opponents,” Overeem said.
