The St Martin’s Engineering College boys toppled Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology with 31-15 verdict to win the basketball title in the Inter-Engineering College Basketball tournament conducted by Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) recently. It was an amazing start by both the sides but straight points by St Martin’s hoopsters upped their tempo and led them to the lift the trophy in the final. The St Martin’s basketball team proved to be too strong in the girls section as well. They defeated MRITS 14-8 scoreline read.
Volleyball
In the Volleyball tournament, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT) College boys proved their strength by carving a 25-23, 25-20 win over Gurunanak Engineering College. In the girls category, St Martin’s Engineering College drubbed Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology as the scoreline read 25-12, 25-15. St Martin’s girls continued their dominance over their rivals and mostly scored points from spiking the ball piercingly into their opponents’ courts which led them to romp home with the trophy comfortably.
Throwball
In the Throwball event, Malla Reddy Institute of Technology and Science girls fought their way to a 15-9, 16-18, 15-8 victory over MGIT.
Table Tennis
In the Table Tennis boys singles category, Santhosh of Gurunanak Institute of Technology clinched a comfortable victory over M. A. Srinivas of MGIT with a 11-6, 11-8 verdict.
Badminton
Mazhar Ali of CMREC beat Vardhaman Engineering College’s K. Bharath 21-12, 21-18 in boys singles category. It was an easy win for Mazhar. In the boys doubles category Mazhar and Abhilash lifted trophy.
