Chess master Ramakrishna

Telangana's Kandi Ravi was also one of the top performers as he defeated Kushagra Mohan to finish third best.

Fide master J. Ramakrishna of Andhra Bank made the right moves to clinch the 1st Mahaveer Trophy All India Open Fide rating Chess tournament that was played recently.

In the final round Ramakrishna defeated Farhaan to finish on top with nine points against his name while Farhaan M. with 7.5 points settled at the eighth spot.

In the other matches of the final round, V. Varun drew with international master M. Chakravarthy Reddy however it was the latter who finished runner-up with 8.5 points in his bag while Varun finished fourth.

Telangana’s Kandi Ravi was also one of the top performers as he defeated Kushagra Mohan to finish third best.

Under 11 Telangana lad Aditya Varun Gampa finished at the sixth spot after he defeated S. V. C. Chakravarthy while S. Khan drew with Amar C. S. Both had 7.5 points each in their account.

The other top performer was Bipin Raj of Telangana who took the fifth spot with eight points while the stateboy Sibi Srinivas Eistein Reddy was on seventh spot with eight points.

The ninth and 10th spots were taken by Pati Spandan (TS, 7.5) and Satyanarayana P. (TS, 7.5 respectively).

V. Varun (8) drew with M. Chakravarthy Reddy (8.5); Farhaan M. (7.5) lost to FM J. Ramakrishna (9); Kushagra Mohan (7) lost to Kandi Ravi (8.5); Adityavarun Gampa (8) beat Chakravarthy S. V. C. (7), Khan S. (7.5) drew with Amar C. S. (7.5).
