Boost for rural sport stars

TournamentOS is an award-winning sports software fan engagement platform capable of delivering a great sporting experience for players and fans.

The Open Run is being organised to raise funds towards the identification, training and development of deserving sportsmen and women living in tier 2 and 3 towns and villages in Tamil Nadu. For every km a participant runs, Rs. 25 will be donated towards this cause.

Aditya Elango, founder of the tournament OS and Skoolympics says, “The Open run is for a cause that is very close to my heart. The run is a part of Skoolympics 2019, the primary goal for which is to identify young sporting talent and give them a platform to train and perform to their best abilities.”

“You can run along the scenic Besant Nagar beach to help us identify the next Olympic champion from Tamil Nadu and sponsor 2,000 kids to take part in this run,” he adds.

The first edition of Skoolympics 2019 is scheduled between October 9th-13th, 2019 at Nehru Indoor Stadium, SDAT Aquatic Complex, SDAT Hockey Stadium and Nehru Indoor Stadium featuring more than 100 schools from across Tamil Nadu competing across 10 sports. This event is digitized by “TournamentOS”, an exclusive operating system for sports tournaments.

TournamentOS is an award-winning sports software fan engagement platform capable of delivering a great sporting experience for players and fans. “TournamentOS tracks the performance of schools and the progress of children. The software was developed by Adya Sports Tech Pvt Ltd, a start-up incubated by NASSCOM. The software has been extensively tested and used at grassroot-level sports,” Aditya Elango says.

Skoolympics 2019 was ideated keeping in mind the lack of centrally organised sports fests in the city. The initiative is to primarily identify young sporting talent and to give them a platform to train and perform to their best abilities.

Talking about the feedback of this initiative, Aditya explains, “The response has been overwhelming; parents have been appreciative of digitising children’s progress and also the transparency that the system ensures. Even associations have shown interest. The idea behind the software is to digitise all sporting activity, from registrations to results.”

The entire event will be run and managed on the TournamentOS platform. It will help in creating a database of young sportsmen in the state who will hopefully be able to participate across national and international tournaments in the future.
