Sardar Singh accused of sexual harassment
Ludhiana: Indian national hockey team’s skipper Sardar Singh faces trouble after a British woman filed a sexual harassment case against him.
The woman, 21, has claimed that she was “mentally, emotionally and physically tortured” by Sardar Singh for last four years. She also said that she was engaged to Sardar and he “blackmailed” her to abort their child, reported ‘The Indian Express’.
“I met him during the London Olympics and we got to know each other better after that. We got engaged but in 2015 I got pregnant. He told me to abort the child, which I did against my wishes and without getting support from anyone,” the report quoted her saying.
“He has been ignoring me and has refused to marry me after that incident,” she added.
She said that the Indian High Commission in her country advised her to file a police complaint.
It is learnt that the complaint is verified by the Ludhiana police but FIR is yet to be registered.
