Bengaluru: One of the country’s top golfers, SSP Chawrasia, is all set to represent the country in the Rio Olympics. The 38-year-old couldn’t be happier that he finds an opportunity to represent his country.
“I think golf is in the Olympics for the first time so I am very excited. I am really looking forward to playing in Rio. I am practising for the Olympics. I am excited that I am representing my country, and hopefully I will bring back a medal. It is a good opportunity to do something for the country,” said Chawrasia.
With no plans of playing at the course ahead of the quadrennial extravaganza, the pro will head there a week earlier to get in ample practice. “I will practice on the course for 5-6 days prior to the tournament. Before Rio I have a lot of major tournaments. I head to Germany, then French Open followed by Scottish Open.”
