The initiative is organised by Fitistan — Ek Fit Bharat, a fitness community working to encourage healthier and more active lifestyles across the country. The Soldierathon aligns with national fitness and youth-focused initiatives including the Fit India Movement and the Government of India’s “No to Drugs — Yes to Sports” campaign, using participation in sport to encourage fitness, discipline and healthy living.
Proceeds from the Soldierathon events help to support the Paraplegic Rehabilita-tion Centres in Pune and Mohali, which rehabilitate soldiers with spinal cord injuries. Another initiative is SENA — 5 percent of the proceeds from SENA products are donated to support injured soldiers and facilitate their rehabilitation.
