With another exciting season of the Premier League 2025-26 up and running, Arsenal’s new striker, Viktor Gyökeres, spoke on JioHotstar to share his excitement about joining one of England’s most storied clubs.
Speaking on JioHotstar, Viktor Gyökeres expressed his excitement about joining Arsenal:
"It's a very big day for me and everyone around me. I'm excited to get going, to meet everyone at the club, and to start playing football for this amazing club."
On why he chose Arsenal despite interest from across Europe:
"I just felt that it was the right club for me. From what I heard from Mikel (Arteta) and Andrea (Berta) when I spoke with them, and from what I’ve seen over the past years, how they’ve been playing football, it felt right. When I played against Arsenal last season, I could really feel it was a very strong team and very difficult to play against. That made me choose Arsenal, along with the history of the club and its massive fan base."
On his conversations with Arsenal’s leadership:
"The conversations were more about things around me and what they were thinking and expecting. I already knew the club well; I’ve watched it before. They didn’t really need to sell it to me; I was already excited. To join Arsenal was a really big thing for me."
On his outlook as Arsenal’s new striker:
"I always want to score. To be part of this club and to score with this kit and this badge in front of all the supporters, I can’t wait. It will be an amazing feeling."
