FIFA World Cup 2018: Round of 16 schedule, teams, live streaming and more

Belgium beat England to top spot in their World Cup group on Thursday.

Moscow: With the group stage of the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup done and dusted, the competition gets even more tougher for the teams who have qualified for the round of 16.

While favourites Germany have already been eliminated, there will be some matches to watch out for in the next round, which includes matches featuring Portugal and Argentina.

Belgium beat England to top spot in their World Cup group on Thursday after Japan sneaked into the knockout phase on the back of their superior disciplinary record.

The 1-0 win for Roberto Martinez's much-changed team in Kaliningrad earns a second-round tie against Japan while England have a trickier-looking match against Colombia.

However, the first match of the knockout stage will be a mouth-watering one, with Lionel Messi’s Argentina taking on France on Saturday. This will be followed by another crunch contest, when Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo face off in the Uruguay-Portugal game.

Here is a closer look at who plays whom in the pre-quarterfinals.
