Hacked AIFF Twitter account posts anti-Modi tweets
New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF), which seemingly posted certain tweets that were critical of India Prime Minister Modi has claimed that its Twitter was hacked, on Thursday.
Cow vigilantism has been on the rise, and a recent incident, when a resident of Haryana, Junaid Khan was lynched by a mob for allegedly carrying beef, which is banned in the state.
This incident sparked a wave of protests all over the country, that condemned such killings.
Modi, on Thursday, even delivered a speech on the centenary of the Shabarmati Ashram in ahmedabad, Gujarat, the Prime Minister’s home state, where he condemned such killings.
"No one spoke about protecting cows more than Mahatma Gandhi and Acharya Vinoba Bhave. Yes. It should be done. But, killing people in the name of Gau Bhakti is not acceptable. This is not something Mahatma Gandhi would approve," said Modi.
“We are the land of non violence. We are the land of Mahatma Gandhi. Why do we forget this? As a society, there is no place for violence,” he further said. "Let's all work together. Let's create the India of Mahatma Gandhi's dreams. Let's create an India our freedom fighters would be proud of."
In an interesting turn of events, the AIFF posted a couple of tweets sarcastically lauding the Prime Minister for speaking on current events in the country. The tweets were later removed.
AIFF confirmed later that their Twitter handle was hacked.

Last month, AIFF’s official website was hacked by an anonymous group called ‘Zero Cool’, who posted anti-India messages on the site.
The group posted provoking messages about Kulbhushan Jadhav, who had allegedly carried out espionage activities against Pakistan.
AIFF later went on to apologise for the messages, clarifying that their website had been hacked.
