Richard Stearman borrowed ring for proposal
They tied the knot in a fairytale manner last month, eight years after their first meeting. And while Fulham FC’s Richard Stearman provided his bride, Beth Lay, with the ‘perfect’ day it seems his proposal was slightly unconventional, as he had to borrow a ring for the big moment. Recalling the proposal in an interview with OK! magazine, the 28-year-old defender revealed just five minutes after she agreed to marry him he had to tell her the ring belonged to their friend Danielle Lloyd. Whisking Beth away to Paris for the romantic event, it seems the olverhampton-born star had some issues with a ring and ended up borrowing one of Danielle’s rings.
“Our friend Danielle had a ring she wore on holidays so she didn’t lose her proper ring,’ explained Richard. ‘I told her I was going to propose and asked if I could loan the ring.” However, though she said yes, he had to break the news the ring wasn’t hers just five minutes after she agreed to marry him But it seems that Richard knew the two were made for each other, as he revealed it was love at first sight for him when he first met his wife back in the summer of 2008.
