Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool players took some time out of their busy club duties to provide some festive cheer to those in need. The Reds visited the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and enjoyed the chance to put a smile on the youngsters faces on Friday afternoon.

The likes of Klopp, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge were all pictured giving the children an early Christmas present in Liverpool. The children at the hospital were given the opportunity to meet and take photos with their sporting idols.

Earlier in the day, the Liverpool squad were treated to a visit from Olympic world record holder and lifelong Reds fan Wayde van Niekerk at Melwood. Van Niekerk grabbed the headlines at the Rio Olympics when he won gold in the men’s 400m and set a new world record with a time of 43.03 seconds. The South African was greeted by the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Henderson, Sturridge and Klopp before he watched training in the morning and was given a behind-the-scenes tour of Melwood.
