Former football star Mohammed Sharfuddin dies at 54
The TFA held a condolence meeting on Sunday, which was attended by all the office bearers, referees and senior players.
Mohammed Sharfuddin, a former national-level football player from the state, passed away at the age of 54.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons. The Telangana Football Association extended their condolences to the grieving family.
Sharfuddin was a product of the first batch of the erstwhile Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh’s sports hostel. He represented AP at the Nationals from 1983 to 1988, and went on to work for the Accountant General’s Office. He also played for the iconic Mohammedan Sporting Club in Kolkata.
