Liverpool complete signing of Egypt winger Mohamed Salah from AS Roma
London: Liverpool have announced the signing of Roma's former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah on a five-year deal.
The Egyptian, who has been a prime target for manager Jurgen Klopp, has been bought by the club for 34.3m pound.
Salah will earn in the region of 90,000 pound a week and takes over No.11 from Roberto Firmino, who becomes the club's No.9.
"I'm very excited to be here. I'm very happy," the Independent quoted him as saying.
"I will give 100 per cent and give everything for the club. I really want to win something for this club. We have a great team and very good players. I was watching the games last year and everyone was giving 100 per cent to win something.
"Everyone can see the coach gives everything. I hope to see that together we can give everything to win something for the club, for the supporters and for us," he added.
The 25-year-old has scored 29 goals in 65 appearances in Italy.
Klopp, while praising Salah for his experience and potential, said the Winger has the perfect mix of experience and potential.
"His record in Italy has been outstanding and he possesses qualities that will enhance our team and squad. I have followed him since he emerged at FC Basel and he has matured into a really good player," said Klopp.
"His pace is incredible, he gives us more attacking threat and we are already strong in this area. I like that we will make it even more competitive," he added.
Salah will officially link up with the Reds on July 1 following the expiration of his terms at Stamford Bridge.
