I- League: Indian Arrows out to check losing run

With just a point from their three matches, Gokulam, a rung below the Arrows, haven't done much better.

New Delhi: Indian Arrows will be looking to halt a two-match losing run when host Gokulam Kerala FC in an I-League match here on Friday. Arrows began encouragingly, beating Gokulam 3-0 in their tournament opener but then crashed to home and away defeats against Minerva Punjab FC to be eighth in the standings with three points. With just a point from their three matches, Gokulam, a rung below the Arrows, haven’t done much better.

Inexperience of the Arrows players contributed to their defeats but coach Luis Norton de Matos believes the youngsters have shown they can compete with established professionals. “We are certainly looking for a win against Gokulam Kerala FC. The most important thing for us is to show our boys can play with senior players. With no foreigners and mostly 16-17-year-olds, even if we finish fifth or sixth it is a huge positive.”
