Indian footballers come together to aid victims of Mizoram floods

The money received from the match will go to the victims affected by the floods in Mizoram, where more than 10 people were killed.

Mumbai: There has been a lot of talk about developing football in India, with the possible merger of the I-League and the Indian Super League (ISL).

While the All India Football Federation is busy planning the future roadmap for Indian football, Indian defender Nirmal Chettri has taken to Facebook to express his thoughts on the recent events in Darjeeling, where three people were killed in a violence which took place.

However, Nirmal is not the first football player to contribute in such a way, as his fellow footballers Jayesh Rane and Ashutosh Mehta had earlier started a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for people affected by the floods in Mizoram, which took place recently.

However, the story does not end here. The Football Players Association of India (FPAI), which all three players are a part of will play a charity match against Mizoram XI at I-League champion Aizwal FC’s home ground on July 1.

The money received from the match will go to the victims affected by the floods in Mizoram, where more than 10 people were killed.

The Football Players Association of India took to Twitter to announce the news of the upcoming charity match.

The Mizoram FA XI is expected to feature some top names from Aizwal’s title-winning team.
