A deluge of goals
The Accountant General’s Office Recreation Club. South Central Railway and Tarnaka Football Club scored 5-0 wins in their respective matches while Fateh Hyderabad, State Bank of Hyderabad and Central Excise also registered comfortable victories in their respective matches in the ‘A’ Division Rahim Football League being organised by the Telangana Football Club in Hyderabad.
AGORC thrashed TSRTC; SCR blanked City College Old Boys and Tarnaka FC blasted past State Bank of India.
Meanwhile, Central Excise steamrollered Central Excise 4-1; Fateh Hyderabad eased past Bharat Dynamics Limited 2-0 and SBH beat Hyderabad Sporting 1-0.
Shankar was instrumental in SCR’s belligerent victory with a fine hat-trick.
Shankar opened the floodgates in the 9th minute, scored his second in the 13th and completed his treble in the 23rd minute.
Vijay (36th minute) and Mani (48th minute) scored the other two goals for the Railwaymen. Abdul Rehman scored an early brace to set the ball rolling for AGORC. Abdul opened the scoring in the eighth minute and four minutes later, doubled his — and his team’s — tally. Jeswa then made it 3-0 when he scored in the 43rd minute.
Mohd Raza scored the fourth goal of the match 10 minutes into the second half and Abdul Ali completed the rout with a goal three minutes later. Meanwhile, Vijay scored a brilliant brace as Tarnaka shut SBI out.
Vijay scored the opening goal in the eighth minute off a fine cross and scored his second goal in the 11th minute, thanks to a defensive lapse. Ram (29th minute), Ankit (60th minute) and Kiran (70th minute) scored the remaining three goals as SBI were thrashed.
