FIFA World Cup 2018: Indian ball boy Rishi Tej takes field alongside Hazard, Lukaku

Rishi got a chance to see fulfill the dream of attending the biggest sporting carnival in the planet.

Sochi: Watching the biggest soccer event in the world i.e FIFA World Cup inside the stadium is every football fans dream. They wait for four years to travel to the sporting carnival, where they get to see their favorite stars on the field and cheer for their national side.

A 10-year-old kid from Bengaluru also got the opportunity to live his dream of watching the biggest sporting carnival in Russia. Rishi Tej was chosen as the designated Official Match Ball Carriers (OMBC) for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia from India.

Rishi made history last night when he became the first Indian ball boy to carry the ball on the field before the start of Belgium vs Panama game in Sochi.

Speaking to India Today, the 10-year-old ball boy from Bengaluru said "I am so excited, you cannot measure it even. It is like I am still dreaming. In Russia, I want to live every moment. During the match, I just don't want to enjoy but analyze how they play,”

Belgium went onto to registered a convincing 3-0 win over Panama, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku, who scored a brace and Dries Mertens, who found the net once for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, 11-year-old Nathania John Kandathil from Tamil Nadu alongside Rishi will be the other ball boy from the country.
